Description |
4.2.1, paragraph 6, says, "The width_expr shall be a constant expression. It also shall not be affected by run-time parameter assignments." That implies that there is such a thing as a "run-time parameter assignment". But 1364 (even 1364-1995) does not allow such a thing. 3.11.1, paragraph 4, says, "Parameters represent constants; hence, it is illegal to modify their value at runtime." If it is illegal, it should not even pass compilation. And parameters can be used in many places. There is no special reason to mention them in 4.2.1. The sentence "It also shall not be affected by run-time parameter assignments." should be deleted. -- Shalom Bresticker Shalom.Bresticker@motorola.com Design & Reuse Methodology Tel: +972 9 9522268 Motorola Semiconductor Israel, Ltd.
