Description |
IEEE Standards Style Manual says that a "NOTE" is not part of the standard, it is only informative. Some NOTES in 1364-2001 are intended to be normative. All the NOTES should be reviewed to decided which are normative and changed to regular parts of the standard text. |

However, table footnotes can be normative. The LRM does include code comments in examples which are intended to be normative. These should enter the main text.
